Majolica Care & Cleaning
With care, your majolica will last you a lifetime. Majolica is not as hard as porcelain or china; it is earthenware that is low-fired and as a result it is more susceptible to chipping. Over time you may start to notice a slight crazing to the glaze which is a natural result of use and does not significantly effect the piece. Because earthenware can be damaged by exposure to extreme heat it is NOT SAFE to be used in an oven or microwave. It is dishwasher safe on the “energy saver” setting, however you should take care to place pieces far apart to avoid potential chipping during the high-pressure cycles.

Imperfections
All of our pieces are painstakingly created and decorated by hand. Because of this, it is not uncommon for there to be visible brush strokes or variations in the designs, colors and sizes; you may even find a smudge or fingerprint on your piece. Is this considered an imperfection? We don’t think so, rather we consider it evidence that your piece was hand-crafted and hope you will too.
